Preserving the health of the working population is a public policy priority. Early detection of signs of occupational pathology is most effective during periodic medical examinations of workers, followed by referral to a centre for occupational pathology for further in-depth examinations. The new world of labour creates new risks to occupational health.
Occupational diseases of the future is a challenge that should be addressed today.
Leading experts in the field of occupational pathology will speak at the session on the problematic issues of occupational aptitude assessment and the link between diseases and the occupation.

Representatives of domestic and international companies will share practices of sustainable development, outcomes and key challenges of sustainable development concept establishment in Russia.

The session offers an opportunity to review and discuss the experience of companies in implementing and developing corporate information systems for health and safety process management.
Special attention will be paid to lessons learnt from implementation results as well as to discussion of problematic issues in the development of these information systems.

The Vision Zero concept, which consists of seven golden rules, has become widespread in Russia. More than 6,000 Russian companies have joined the movement since 2017, when a memorandum was signed between the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Russian Federation and the International Social Security Association. A five-year period of zero-accident measures is sufficient time to discuss performance, problems encountered and changes in perception of workers' safety.
Participants will discuss the results of implementing Vision Zero in selected companies, the transformation of employee behaviour and the impact of the concept on workplace safety in Russian industry.

At the event, taking into account sustainable trends in the development of labour legislation in terms of improving the system of mandatory medical examinations of employees and in line with the goals and objectives of the Concept of Digital and Functional Transformation of the Social Domain, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Russian Federation, experts will discuss the functional load and legal status of the new concepts of "remote medical control" and "social insurance profile" and assess the feasibility of establishing a "legal sandbox" regime for practical implementation of new forms of medical examinations of employees at transport industry enterprises and hazardous industrial facilities.

Working citizens make a major contribution to the social and economic development of the state. Their health is determined not only by a safe working environment, but also by the availability of health services, programmes involving prevention and management of health risks (including those resulting from occupational activities), timely recognition of diseases and medical and recuperative care. Nevertheless, we can only talk about building a healthy society when society is motivated towards a healthy lifestyle and shares the values of health protection consciously, not by regulation. A managed corporate environment is the place where a mass culture of health responsibility can develop and the foundations for a healthy society can be laid.

At the event, experts will talk about the main practices of lean production, their results and their impact on staff behaviour.

In a management system, OHSAS 18001 addresses only risks, ISO 45001 addresses both risks and possibilities; ISO 45001 takes into account the views of all stakeholders; the new standard is more dynamic than the old one in every aspect; OHSAS 18001 focuses predominantly on reducing health hazards, ISO 45001 on the relationship between a company and its suppliers/customers.
During the event, experts will discuss management system standards and their impact on safety.

The COVID-19 pandemic is the gravest crisis since the Second World War. It has led to significant changes in the labour market, not only in the area of employment, but also in the operational sustainability of employers themselves.
The crisis has prompted management to make difficult decisions to optimise existing business models, find ways to cut costs, and develop new lines of business.

The discussion will focus on Russian and international experience of state management of labour protection during the pandemic, including the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the labour sector, modernisation of legislative ways to regulate remote interaction in the social and labour sector between the state authorities and citizens and employers, introduction of electronic document management in the labour sector and its simultaneous integration into the electronic services of the Pension Fund, Social Insurance Fund and state labour inspectorate.
