Labour Dynasties in Industry: Handing Down Professional Experience

10.10.2026 10:30–11:15
Sirius University of Science and Technology, conference hall 3
A profession may begin with one person and become the story of several generations. Labour dynasties are more than a few relatives working in the same industry: they represent a form of professional memory that does not end with a single generation. The experience of older generations helps younger family members master a profession more quickly, recognise aspects of the work that cannot be learned from textbooks alone, and understand the true value of craftsmanship. Alongside professional knowledge, responsibility for results, respect for work and for the family’s reputation are also passed on. Today, however, the younger generation has far greater freedom of choice. Should a parent’s profession become a family tradition, or should every individual begin their own path anew? Is it possible to preserve the connection between generations without turning it into an obligation? And why, after decades, do some families remain loyal to the same industry?

Mentorship – The Foundation of Safe Work

10.10.2026 10:30–12:30
Sirius University of Science and Technology, the roundtable 5.6
Given the current economic situation in Russia, the relevance and necessity of strengthening the institution of mentoring in the business community and industry is becoming evident. The experience that experienced mentors can offer proves invaluable in the process of forming a new generation of leaders, successful entrepreneurs and qualified specialists in working professions. This is particularly important in the light of the shortage of qualified personnel in working specialities, which directly affects the pace of our country's industrial development. Understanding the significance of this problem, we see an increasing number of initiatives aimed at developing and implementing effective mentoring programmes. These programmes not only contribute to the professional and personal growth of emerging specialists and businesspeople but also make a significant contribution to the economic prosperity of our country.

Beyond the CV: A Candid Conversation with a Hiring Manager

10.10.2026 10:30–11:15
Sirius University of Science and Technology, conference hall 7
There is always more behind a CV and a vacancy than meets the eye. The applicant sees the requirements, the salary range and the list of responsibilities; the employer sees dozens of applications, deadlines and the need to find a suitable person. But what happens between these two points? Why can a strong candidate fail to reach the interview stage, and a vacancy remain open for months? Each side has its own expectations, criteria and rules that are rarely spoken about aloud. How is a CV actually read? What makes a hiring manager stop at one candidate and scroll past another? Why does a test task sometimes become an obstacle, and why does a rejection not always mean that you ‘were not the right fit’?

Competition: Best Innovative Proposal for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

10.10.2026 10:30–13:45
Sirius University of Science and Technology, conference hall 8
At the dawn of their development, personal protective equipment was governed by a single principle: to protect a person from danger at any cost. Ergonomics and comfort were sacrificed to the main function, even if this created substantial inconvenience. Today this paradigm is giving way to a new philosophy. The task of modern PPE is not merely to preserve life and health but also to ensure a high quality of that life. Protection must be effective, comfortable and perfectly adapted to real working conditions. It is precisely this transition from survival to comfortable safety that is becoming the main driver of innovation. Which ideas will define the appearance of the PPE of the future? And how important is it, when creating it, to take into account not only the external threat but also the individual who daily entrusts their life to it?

Competition: Best AI Digital Solution in the Field of Occupational Health and Industrial Safety

10.10.2026 10:30–13:45
Sirius University of Science and Technology, conference hall 9
Digital technologies are transforming occupational safety, taking it beyond formal briefings and incident response. Computer vision monitors compliance with safety standards, wearable devices and IoT sensors collect data on the environment and on employees' condition, and big data analysis identifies hidden risks that are invisible under conventional control. NLP algorithms turn text reports into a source of information about potential threats. These technologies record violations, analyse context, recognise hazardous situations and predict risks, shifting the very focus: from detecting a person without a hard hat to analysing their behaviour in a hazardous zone, from stating overheating to an anticipatory signal of a possible risk. In this way, technologies become part of day-to-day safety management.

Safety without a Hard Hat? What Will Occupational Safety Look Like in the Age of AI?

10.10.2026 11:45–12:30
Sirius University of Science and Technology, conference hall 1
Artificial intelligence, computer vision, smart PPE, robots and wearable devices are already changing approaches to employee safety. But will technology be able to fully prevent accidents, will an algorithm replace the occupational safety specialist, and where does the boundary lie between care for the individual and digital control? Where is the human still indispensable, and where is the algorithm capable of seeing the risk earlier? Which real production situations are already changing thanks to AI, computer vision, smart PPE and wearable devices? And what should the enterprise of the future be like?

10.10.2026 11:45–12:30

The finale of a computer game is a boss battle. The finale of a job selection process is an interview. And here, as in a virtual battle, thoughtlessly pressing every button in a row will lead to failure. Victory goes to the one who understands the rules and follows the right tactics. This is felt especially acutely by graduates taking their first steps in the profession without experience behind them. Today's employer is not satisfied with merely confirming knowledge of regulatory requirements. Far more important is to understand how a candidate thinks, makes decisions, acts in non-standard situations and interacts with people. How can one show one's strengths if there is no substantial professional experience yet? How can study projects and internships be turned into convincing arguments in one's favour? Which 'supercompetencies' are sought in modern occupational safety specialists – and how can one prove that one is ready for real tasks already at the first interview?

Generational Bridges: The Synergy of Experience and Youthful Energy as a Source of Creation

10.10.2026 11:45–13:45
Sirius University of Science and Technology, conference hall 7
Today, people separated by decades of professional experience can find themselves in the same workplace. For some, familiar processes are a proven way of achieving results; for others, they are an opportunity to rethink everything and do it differently. But do experience and new ideas always end up on opposite sides? Each generation has its own strengths: experience helps to see risks and to rely on proven solutions, while youth brings a fresh perspective, new technologies and a willingness to experiment. But experience alone or energy alone is not enough when it comes to complex work tasks. What will a young specialist need in order for their idea to be heard? What will happen if accumulated mastery meets the desire to seek out the new? And are experience and energy capable of creating together a solution that neither would have arrived at separately?

The Neurophysiology of Work, or How to Work Efficiently without Overexerting Yourself

10.10.2026 13:00–13:45
Sirius University of Science and Technology, conference hall 1
In partnership with Russian Railways

High labour productivity depends both on an employee's qualifications and on their ability to maintain attention, speed of reaction and quality of decisions under growing workload. This is particularly important for the transport industry, where the cost of an error can lead to a catastrophe. Neurophysiological research makes it possible to see what is not always visible to the naked eye: how a person's state changes at varying work intensity, where the boundary of optimal workload lies and when the risk of cognitive exhaustion arises. Today, the development of neurotechnologies and artificial intelligence opens up the possibility of using these data for more precise management of the human factor – identifying a decline in working capacity in a timely manner, personalising workload and simultaneously improving both the efficiency and the safety of work. Where is the line that separates high efficiency from overexertion? Can one learn to recognise the moment when workload reduces the quality of decisions? And how can data on a person's state be turned into a practical tool for managing productivity and safety?

From Chaos to Order: Effective Incident Investigation

10.10.2026 13:00–13:45
Sirius University of Science and Technology, conference hall 5
A workplace accident does not happen in an instant. Behind it there is always a chain of events – decisions, omissions and circumstances that step by step led to the incident. But what if we were to rewind time? Go back to the beginning and trace the entire sequence of events step by step in order to understand where exactly the wrong step was taken. Which seemingly insignificant detail is capable of changing the conclusions of the entire investigation? At what point does a simple violation turn into a harbinger of tragedy? And which link in this chain needed to be broken for the ending of this story to be different?
