Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC)

Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) was established in 1992 to transport crude oil from the Western Kazakhstan and Russian fields, including those in the Caspian Region. Crude oil is transported to the Company’s Marine Terminal in the settlement of Yuzhnaya Ozereevka (Novorossiysk) where it is loaded into tankers for dispatch to the global markets. Pipeline length - 1511 km.

CPC is one of the most cost effective and reliable routes to export crude oil from the Caspian and Black Sea Region to the consumers throughout the world. CPC pumps about 80% of all Kazakhstan export oil. The oil pipeline throughput capacity is about 83 million tons per annum.

The CPC-R Shareholders are Russia, Kazakhstan, and the world's largest oil and gas companies. The year 2025 was a record year for the consortium in terms of oil lifting for exports, totaling 70.5 million tons, and the Tengiz–Novorossiysk pipeline system has now transported over 1 billion tons in total.

In 2026, the company will mark the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Shareholders’ Agreement, which established the Consortium in its current form, and the 25th anniversary of the start of its operations.

The company’s international standing has enabled it to adopt best practices—including management, design, construction, and operation standards for oil pipeline facilities. The consortium members, its shareholders, CPC management and staff, contractors, and partners continue to improve CPC’s management practices and performance metrics.

CPC was one of the first Russian companies to adopt the Vision Zero concept. All managers and employees of the consortium recognize human life and health as their top priority. The leadership practices and safety culture implemented in the company are designed to protect the lives and health of both CPC employees and contractors. In 2025, the company recorded 36.6 million hours without lost-time injuries, and the corporate car fleet logged 81.2 million kilometers with no MVAs.
