SOCHI TO HOST 6TH RUSSIAN LABOUR SAFETY WEEK ON 6–9 SEPTEMBER

The 6th Russian Labour Safety Week will be held at the Sirius Park of Science and Arts in Sochi on 6–9 September 2021. The decision to hold the event was made at a meeting of the Organizing Committee headed by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova. The Organizing Committee included Russian Minister of Labour and Social Protection Anton Kotyakov, Adviser to the Russian President Anton Kobyakov, and representatives of the Ministry of Sports, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Health, the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, the Social Insurance Fund, and other agencies. Russian Labour Safety Week is being organized by the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, and the Roscongress Foundation is the operator.

“It has long been generally accepted in society that occupational safety is a concern for major enterprises with thousands of employees, and that these issues rarely go beyond compliance with safety rules in the workplace. But over the past two years, a large number of issues have emerged that we need to discuss all together, including workflow management in the conditions of new challenges using new manufacturing technologies. Maintaining health in the workplace is a critical concern for each of us. Leading domestic experts on occupational protection and international specialists will get together in Sochi to discuss all aspects of this issue,” Minister of Labour and Social Protection Anton Kotyakov said.

More than 150 events will take place over the four days of Russian Labour Safety Week, including roundtables, panel discussions, and seminars that will be attended by roughly 3,600 people.

The discussion topics will include manufacturing in the face of new challenges and state management of occupational safety, digitalization in occupational safety, and occupational medicine. Major Russian companies and agencies in different industries will hold sectoral meetings attended by foreign speakers. More than 100 companies will take part in the exhibition, whose thematic sections will include occupational safety management systems, IT in occupational safety, and safety in the fuel and energy industry, among other themes.
