Russian Labour Safety Week Programme Architecture Published

The business programme architecture for the 6th Russian Labour Safety Week is now available on its official website. The Russian Labour Safety Week will take place on 6–9 September 2021 at the Sirius Park of Science and Art in Sochi. It will be a discussion platform for representatives of the Russian Ministry of Labour led by Minister Anton Kotyakov, representatives of public authorities, as well as heads of agencies and company leaders.

“The Russian Labour Safety Week has not been held for 18 months. Over this time, we have run into multiple issues that we need to discuss together face to face. Of course, the changes to the Labour Code that enter into effect on 1 March 2022 will be the main topic. Public officials will comment on these amendments during the sessions of the business programme. Other important topics include the future of the labour market, employment changes, and new challenges in the occupational health and safety,” said First Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Protection Alexey Vovchenko.

The four days of the Russian Labour Safety Week will offer over 100 events. The key events of the business programme will be the plenary session on ‘Safeguarding Occupational Health: New Challenges, Rapid Solutions’ and the international conference entitled ‘Foresee, prepare and respond. Investing in a sustainable occupational safety system’. The following agencies will hold their own meetings on occupational health and safety: the Ministry of Labour, EMERCOM, Rostrud (the Federal Service for Labour and Employment), the Pension Fund, and the Social Insurance Fund of the Russian Federation. Other events will include discussions on occupational health and safety in metallurgy, coal mining, oil and gas industry, energy industry, chemical industry, services, and transport.

Participants will address new technologies and digital solutions in industrial operations, ways to organize trade unions, training programmes, occupational health and safety in creative industries, and many other topics.

Participants will enjoy a track on occupational health and taking care of employees’ wellbeing. It will offer sessions on corporate cancer prevention programmes, modern first aid standards, COVID-19 prevention, emotional security, and occupational diseases of the future.

Apart from that, the business programme will host master classes on occupational risk assessment, a talk show on involving personnel in developing a safety culture, and sessions on strategic business simulators. The Skolkovo Foundation will host its own master class.

The Russian Labour Safety Week is organized by the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Russian Federation. The Roscongress Foundation is the operator of the event.
