ARPORT TO PRESENT NEW TRAINING PACKAGE AT RUSSIAN LABOUR SAFETY WEEK

ARPort specializes in reducing incident risks and enhancing safety culture with the use of virtual reality. An analysis of injury and incident statistics at several major companies led to an unexpected discovery – in terms of minor injuries office workers outpace industrial sites! The injuries are not overly dangerous, but their total number results in tangible losses due to payment for sick leave and rehabilitation. Secretaries and receptionists lead the list of victims, while employees of any age, gender, and profession can fall victim to accidents in the office.

A new training package using the ARPort SafetyVR will be presented for the first time at Russian Labour Safety Week in Sochi address hazards in the office. No one is immune to minor problems, so the training will be useful to all office workers and their family members. European companies have already realized that improving safety culture must develop across the board. Safety reflexes become natural when not only posters and management, but also all colleagues and acquaintances subtly remind workers of the safety rules. “It’s popular, modern, and smart,” employees think as they become more careful in their daily activities – when driving a car, climbing ladders, or handling electrical appliances.

The new version of ARPort SafetyVR introduces users to the most imperceptible hazards that need to be seen and prevented in time. A vase on the edge of a cabinet, wires running in an aisle, cluttered fire exits. Can you climb up on a chair and how do you check a folding ladder? What can and cannot be included in a pilot? These are some of the hazards that lie in wait for us not only in the office, but also in everyday life. Using a VR headset, ARPort offers users a quest to identify and fix them.

The new version also features additional distractions and stress factors, one of which is based on the Stroop Colour and Word Test. Using VR to evaluate how tasks are fulfilled under the influence of these factors enables you to remember for a long time that stress is not a reason to loosen control and that safety rules are more crucial. If you are not able to block out stress – don’t perform hazardous work.
